Each year the Museum invites Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts to participate in a mini-festival of hands-on programming tied to scout badge requirements and introducing scouts to the built environment. This year, 1,064 scouts, siblings, and adults participated in the two scout days. Scouts explored ideas of green building, including how the Museum’s historic home is green, and ideas associated with the Museum’s Unbuilt Washington exhibition.
